Left Behind Children
World Vision focuses on the needs of vulnerable children. Left-behind children are also the emphasis of World Vision’s services.
In February 2016, the Opinions of the State Council on Strengthening Care and Protection of Rural Left-Behind was released. The top-level design of addressing the issue of left-behind children was firstly proposed. It was clearly stated in the document that the helpless reality that “children cannot enter the city and parents cannot go back home in rural areas” must be changed from the source so as to realize the goal of “left-behind children reduced significantly by 2020”.
To let left-behind children study and live in a safe and pleasant environment and meanwhile experience the beauty of life, the warmth of family’s love and the fullness of childhood, World Vision has launched a series of projects to promote the holistic development of left-behind children.
